Mount Install Guide

Introduction

Thank you for choosing our vehicle-specific magnetic phone mount for the Kia Sorento (3rd Generation, 2016–2020).
This mount is custom-designed using precise 3D scanning to ensure a secure, OEM-fit experience with no drilling, adhesives, or permanent modifications.
This guide will walk you through installation, cable management, and optional accessory setup.

Safety Information

Avoid burns: Components located behind dashboard panels can become very hot during vehicle operation. Turn off the vehicle and allow time for the engine compartment to cool before routing cables behind panels.

Pinch hazard: Mount clips into place with firm pressure. Keep fingers clear of pinch points during installation.

Electrical safety: Use only certified charging cables in good condition.

Install at your own risk: The installer accepts all risks related to mount installation including routing cables behind panels or interacting with heated vehicle components.

Required Tools and Materials

All tools and materials required for installation are included with your mount:

  • MagSafe magnetic phone mount
  • Optional metal ring (for non-MagSafe accessories or devices)

Step-by-Step Instructions

  1. Keep the tray door open during the entire installation.
  2. Position mount and any charging cables on trim.
  3. Slide mount into space between dash and tray by pressing firmly at the base of the mount.

Optional – Metal Ring Usage:

The metal ring allows almost any object to mount magnetically. Adhere the ring to any clean, flat surface on the object you want to mount.

Built-In Cable Management

You may route up to two (2) charging cables through the mount. The cable(s) will rest between the trim and mount, adding cushion and stability. Optimal cable thickness: 3.0 mm. Not designed for cables thicker than 4.0 mm

Choose a routing option at base of mount:

Channel A – Into the Tray:
Keeps cables accessible but prevents the tray door from closing while in use.

Channel B – Behind the Panels:
Provides a clean, cable-free appearance.

Routing Instructions:

  1. Remove mount from trim. Insert the charging cable at the base of the mount.
  2. Guide the cable upward along the groove on     the right-hand side. Note: The channel narrows toward the top to prevent cable slip-out.
  3. Hold the cable in its channel position. Place the mount onto the trim and press firmly at the base to clip into place.

Troubleshooting

Issue: Cable does not fit during installation
Remove mount completely. Ensure cable is < 4.0 mm thick. Re-position cable into groove between mount and trim. Install again.

Issue: Mount does not insert or will not clip
Remove the mount. Check for debris or obstructions between trim, panel, and tray. Reposition and try again.

Issue: Mount feels loose or wobbles
Remove mount and inspect for damaged or broken components. Ensure all contact points are clear. Reinstall. If issue persist, contact support.

Issue: Magnets feel weak or phone falls off
Ensure both phone AND case are MagSafe-compatible. Non-MagSafe phones require a compatible case or metal plate.
Inspect the magnet surface on mount. Remove any stray metal rings obstructing the connection. The optional metal ring may attach upside down; its black finish can mimic the magnet surface. If issues persist, contact support.

Will this mount work with another vehicle model?
No. Each mount is designed using detailed 3D scanning specifically for the Kia Sorento 3rd Gen.
